History and a National Park that surrounds the town
The town is famous for its Dutch Reformed Church in the
middle of
the town - also known as the “Grootkerk” Also the Valley of
Desolation, just 11km on tar in the Camdeboo National Park -
which
surrounds the town, and is a “must see”.
Graaff-Reinet is the fourth oldest town in South Africa (est
1786)
and has more historical monuments than any other town in
South
Africa.
